My Responsibility As A

Creator

I focus on aligning myself with demographics that occupy societal “blind spots”.  The goal is to create and facilitate ongoing media platforms to help give voice to voiceless individuals. Strengthening communities through media examples of solution-based thinking.

A Purposeful Existence

My sense of purpose and the complexity of my life experiences constantly inform my actions so, I’m also charged with taking care of myself…. first and foremost!

Maneuvering through a hypertensive societal caste system that is designed to ostracize me is taxing.

As with many melanated people, creativity has long been a “soft solution” or a “healing tool”.

Leaning Into My Creativity

Throughout my lifetime I’ve had the privilege of witnessing and experiencing many levels of creative vibration and form that have been healing.

I’ve always leaned toward performance art as my go-to.

I came to know art being used as a creative tool for peacebuilding and communication.allowing the voiceless to express themselves a tool of expression to strengthen communication within and between communities that must begin at home. Beginning with ones self.

Visual Empowerment

My works are visual empowerment tools for the masses. It is the version of myself, who has learned to do courageous things.

Walking up to total strangers and communicating words that validate their presence, their strength, and their life experiences as humans.

Photographing these women is a way to validate my existence as a part of humanity, despite living in a society where the color of my skin nor my spirit is not accepted.

Somewhere along the line that read “ me” changed to “us”.
